In the era of globalization, the use and dependence of various industries on maps is dramatically increasing. The geographic information System (GIS) should be accessible not only to tourists, professionals, but also to any users. There are various types of software for creating a map, however, there is a need to identify software that can be effective for creating a map and using it in the learning process. In this regard, the goal is to consider the features of using the Python language in working with the map in the ArcGIS system in the educational process of universities. To achieve this goal, defining the features of building geoinformation systems in Python in ArcGIS and solving problems of introducing topics for using Python in ArcGIS into the content of the discipline "Application of digital technologies by industry» in the educational process. ArcGIS is one of the most effective and affordable mapping software. In the process of creating a map in ArcGIS, you can work with the schedule of a special project, change or add an automated type, color and names of settlements using the Python programming language. The study describes the approbation of the educational and methodological tutorial of the authors of the article Uusing the Python programming language in mapping in the ArcGIS system», used in teaching the discipline «Аpplication of digital technologies by industry»  at the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The tutorial covers practical work on installing and using ArcGIS to work with maps and geospatial data using Python.
