In recent years, the model of practice-based learning of students in the field of information technology has been widely used in universities. This model promotes the acquisition of professional competencies by students through the use of active teaching methods in the educational process and usually requires the participation of third parties, that is, employers. There is often a wide application of this type of training in the field of information technology but, despite many years of research, the effectiveness of some approaches of practice-based training compared to the traditional approach is still questionable. This article presents data related to the identification and analysis of trends and patterns in publications published in recent years on practice-based education. The course of the research consists of three stages, that is, the first stage, which consists in selecting articles according to certain criteria in the Scopus database. The second stage consists of a meaningful analysis of selected articles, determination of methods used in scientific publications, bibliographic analysis and search for relevant topics; the last third stage is summing up. In the course of the study, it is known that interest in practice-based learning in scientific works has increased significantly in recent years, and the use of various research methods by researchers has been relatively studied. To implement the above bibliographic analysis, the VOSviewer application was used, and the results of the analysis were demonstrated using network visualization.
